American Dominique Chickens

 Dominiques, America's oldest Breed

Dominiques are Americas oldest breeds of chickens. they are characterized by their barred feather pattren ( like that of a plymoth rock) and bright red rose combs, wattles, and earlobes. The males are very handsome, having long, sweeping tales and a U shaped backline. The females are smaller and a few shades darker than the males, being plump and full breasted.

Dominiques are known for being incredibly hardy, friendly, good mothers and execellent layers of brown eggs.
I hope that you enjoy this site, and decide that you need to get some Dominiques too! (unless you live in an apartment)

Dominique Cockerel

This is my best cockerel, 20 weeks old.

2003 Spring hatch!

Just 3 chicks this year! The mother hen is only 28 weeks old, so that might be the reason for so few chicks. I think that there is 2 pullets and a cockerel, but I'm not really sure.
